If I have court fines, fees, costs, or restitution to pay, what do I do?
All monies assessed by the Court are due and payable that day. If you are absolutely unable to pay in full, you MUST contact the Collections Investigator in the respective court IMMEDIATELY to discuss your situation. You must provide a detailed financial application for the CI to determine if you are eligible for a payment plan. Fines, costs and restitution are due on the day of sentencing. After that, a time payment fee of $25.00 will be applied, and will be charged again annually for as long as you have a remaining balance due.
If I am the victim of a crime and the defendant was ordered to pay me back for injuries or damages, how do I collect my money?
Contact the CI to find out the status of the case. The defendant will be ordered to pay the amount owed into the court registry. The court then sends the restitution to the designated victim(s).
